Shane Macintosh
Shane`s path to being a Carver of both Pounamu & Bone started in the 1980`s.
After a serious car accident with many years of rehabilitation Shane could no longer return to his former trade as a Bushman working for NZ Forestry.
Always knowing he had an artistic streak Shane decide he had to re-set his career and opted to train to be a Bone Carver when it became clear that he had a real gift for the art and he had found his passion he then decided to start carving Pounamu & has not looked back
Under the guidance of the notable Pounamu Carvers Charlie Wilson & Hepi Maxwell Shane began to work with Pounamu & has not looked back.
Today after many years of perfecting his craft Shane is a highly regarded leading Carver in his field with a distinct style of his own.
One of his many signature designs are the engraving of intricate kowhaiwhai patterns on the surface of his taonga
Shane has also over the years increased his craft to include his signature Crossovers, Hooks & Toki`s with his tell-tale precision bindings/lashings on his carvings
